Seddon Host England-Scotland Friendly!
G & J Seddon Limited, Bolton based construction company, and member of the Seddon Group, held a fiercely fought charity football match this Saturday, in support of Seddon Groups partnership with The Christie and the Magic Bullet research appeal.
Twenty two of the companys employees took part in the football match at St James Secondary School, Farnworth, which saw the English and Scottish offices of the company pit their footballing skills against each other to raise over 1,500 for The Christie. Team Scotland travelled over 200 miles from Glasgow to take part and being a charity game didnt lessen the competitive spirit of the teams with the game ending in a 4 all draw.
Seddon Group is The Christies corporate partner for its Sporting Events Programme during 2009 & 2010 and this match was part of much wider partnership which began in January. The Group is donating 75,000 each year to The Christie for research into a revolutionary treatment of cancer known as the Magic Bullet a far faster cancer treatment with fewer side effects than chemotherapy.
This has been a superb event and were delighted to continue the England-Scotland rivalry if its in aid of raising money for charity! comments Seddon Group Director, Jonathon Seddon. Our staff are continually coming up with new and novel ways of supporting Seddons partnership with The Christie. It has shown both a fantastic creative flair and team spirit within the workforce.
In addition to the donation the Group has pledged to match pound for pound any monies raised by its employees that take part in fund raising events. Seddon has guaranteed the minimum amount donated will be 100,000 each year for the next 2 years.
