Background

The Regenda Group was formed in 2002 as a partnership between Maritime and Templar Housing and later included West Pennine Housing Association, Wyre Housing Association and West Pennine registered subsidiary Limehurst Village Trust. The Group now owns and manages over 13,000 units and works across the North West in over 30 local authority areas.

Project

Seddon has completed a development of six, three-bedroom semi-detached houses for Maritime Housing, and the development is the first project to use newly launched sheeps wool manufacturer Black Mountain Insulation. Keen to find sustainable solutions for its projects, Maritime Housing wanted to provide efficient properties that would have a direct benefit for its residents. By insulating the properties using Black Mountain, Seddon met this brief, creating homes that are expected to lower energy bills for occupants, whilst using environmentally-friendly products. Investing in Black Mountain will enable Seddon to offer a sustainable solution to energy usage and climate change to customers like Maritime Housing, whilst supporting a natural resource that is both biodegradable and recyclable, in line with Seddons environmental stance.

Endorsement

We always strive to find sustainable and environmentally-friendly solutions to our build projects, so when Seddon proposed using Black Mountain Insulation, it was a natural progression for us and we are delighted with the result. Adam Smith, Development Officer at The Regenda Group
