Stockport Homes is a limited company that manages the housing stock owned by Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council.
Stockport Homes is known as an Arm's Length Management Organisation or ALMO. This means that while the local council established the company, it operates independently from it on day-to-day matters.
The Seddon Group has applied an external insulation system to Stockport Homes? high rise development in Brinnington, Stockport.
Project
The work at Brinnington consisted of external insulation to the tower blocks and the installation of new balcony windows.
The results from a thermal imaging exercise post-insulation show the homes have a significant reduction in heat loss since the project was completed. This will ensure lower fuel bills for the tenants as the heat loss through the building has been dramatically reduced and the external appearance of the properties have been greatly improved.
