Background
This project shows the diverse skill-set of the Seddon Group. Two companies within the group - id4living and G & J Seddon - worked together in a co-ordinated approach to deliver a complete regeneration package, consisting of housing for sale, design and build construction, and neighbourhood improvement projects.
The Halton Brook estate is situated in a suburb of Runcorn, Cheshire. This extensive regeneration package includes 114 houses for sale with a GDV of approximately £15m, plus £1 million of improvements to the neighbourhood centre and local community facilities.
Project
Seddon won an open competition for the comprehensive regeneration of the area, including re-modelling and updating the neighbourhood centre which is cross-subsidised by the capital receipt from the purchase of land to construct new housing. The Project Management of the whole regeneration package including the development of new housing for sale will be drawing upon the expertise of the Seddon Group to carry out the design and construction of the Neighbourhood Centre Improvement Work.
Seddon, working in close partnership with The Riverside Group, carried out extensive community engagement and consultation work with local residents.
The local community's feedback has helped to create contemporary new housing proposals, combining innovative designs and technologies to assist in the re-mediation of the site for the new housing, as well as raising of the profile of the overall area.
Endorsement
"We have worked successfully with Seddon on a number of projects in the past, and we decided to work with them based on the content of their bid and their competitive pricing.
The project has been complex and we hope that work will commence this summer. We are confident that this project will re-generate the Halton Brook estate and prove to be a mutually beneficial partnership going forward."
Stephen Leonard, Assistant Divisional Director of Riverside Home Ownership
